Wesley Wolf started the Southwest Michigan Bible Quizzing program in 2001 and has been its director since then. He works full-time at Wolf's Marine in Benton Harbor, spending as much time as he can with the quiz program, with the goal of eventually being able to devote full time to quizzing. For those who are interested, this page details some of Wes's background and credentials.

Wes graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Illinois, Chicago Circle, and a Master of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois.

He has served Evangelical Free churches in Lanse, PA (pastoral intern), Fort Atkinson, WI (senior pastor), Portage, WI (senior pastor), and Holland, MI (church planter). He also served as a counselor at Honey Creek Christian Homes in Lowell, MI.

In addition to SWMBQ, his background in quizzing includes many years as a participant during his youth. While living in Chicago he served with Youth for Christ as a Campus Life director and developed the Bible Quiz program for grades 3-12. Teams consisted of inner city and suburban youth from a variety of denominational, economic, and ethnic backgrounds with a peak of about 200 participants. He initiated the Chicago Tournament which included 20-25 teams and continues to be a major quiz event today, attracting teams from hundreds of miles away. He was president of the World Bible Quiz Association for one year.

Wes and his wife Nelly live in St. Joseph and have two married daughters, Jessica, a pharmacist in Wisconsin (doctorate from Ferris State University); and Rebekah, a nurse (BSN, also from Ferris State).
